Game 9 - Homecoming
The smell of fall is in the air, the Mildcats are coming to town, it’s time for homecoming in West Lafayette! It will be great seeing everyone back in West Lafayette for this year’s game, though it’s really kind of late in the year for homecoming.
As everyone now knows, our Homecoming tailgates have taken on themes in recent years. This trend continues this year when we bring the espionage and intrigue of a James Bond movie to tailgating; welcome to Homecoming ‘007 style! (Get it, Homecoming 2007, shortened to ‘007.)
Unfortunately we were unable to secure rooms at the Hilton Garden Inn this year so we’re out at the Hampton on US-26 west of I-65. Each person will need to bring a check made out to Paula Wlos to pay for the rooms in the amount of $99.07. This is the per person lodging cost for the entire weekend. Those of you staying only one night are being split across rooms; you will receive an e-mail concerning what you owe. The rooms will be in Brendan Less and Grady Wick's names Paula would like for you to coordinate with your "room captain" to pick up your keys.
If you are not staying with us, but plan to meet us at the tailgate on Saturday, we are in a new location in the W lot. The W is a JPC lot, so you will need to park in the IM lot and walk up towards the stadium to reach us. (See the area across from Slayter Hill on the map below.) We’ll have one Purdue tent, the hearse, and the Purdue flag shown below on a 20 foot pole.

7:30 p.m. Dinner at Don Pablos in Lafayette
We have dinner reservations for 12 at Don Pablos in Lafayette at 7:30. I figured this would be a good spot since it is close to the hotel and is casual enough that we shouldn’t offend too many people.
Saturday October 27, 2007
7:45 a.m. Drivers meet
8:15 a.m. Tailgate Party Begins
11:30 a.m. Depart for Stadium
12:00 p.m. Game Time
Paula and Eric will be heading over early to set things up for the tailgate. There are 2 open seats if you want to head over with us, first come, first serve.
I do not believe that there is a hotel shuttle but you can check at the front desk when we arrive on Friday. I would suggest that everyone arrange carpools for Saturday so that we minimize the number of sober drivers needed.
Sunday October 28, 2007
There are no set plans for Sunday, but if people are up to it we might want to head over to Reihle Brothers for brunch.

Game 8 - Iowa Hawkeyes
I don’t use the phrase “must win” very often but if I think that this game defines a “must win.” For those of you that missed it, we’ve apparently begun our now annual October death spiral. If we can’t get this ship turned around and win out in October then we’ll likely enter November looking up at IU in the standings for goodness sake! In order to avoid the death spiral continuing I expect everyone to be on top of their cheering game!
Since they have to be at a wedding on Homecoming weekend Chris and Eileen Saam have decided to make Iowa their own personal homecoming! Grady and Anna Wick didn’t want them to feel alone so they too will be heading down from Chicago. So basically we all get two homecomings this year!
We will plan on meeting in the W lot on Saturday morning, likely towards the front of the lot. The W lot is indicated in green on the map below.
For those of you parking in the IM lot it is only a 5 minute walk to the W lot, just think of us being on the way to the stadium! We have the large flagpole that extends to 20 feet, so hopefully you will be able to locate us easily.

I was wrong by the way, I said the last time we won in AA was during the Reagan Administration when it was actually more like the Johnson Administration.
See you next weekend.

Purdue 7 OSU 23 (5-1)
Purdue heads to their house of horrors next week, Michigan. I don't think we've won there since the Reagan administration and yesterday gave no indication that we're going to be competitive, but that's why they play the games!
